Marcus Porter

About Me.
Marcus Porter is a Wisconsin-based independent hip-hop artist, producer, and founder of the Born To Dream brand. A 2x Wisconsin Area Music Industry (WAMI) Award winner, Porter was named 2026 WAMI Rap Performer of the Year and previously won the 2025 WAMI Award for Rap/R&B/Electronic Song for “Celebration.”

Since releasing his first music publicly in 2019, Porter has built a growing catalog rooted in introspection, perseverance, purpose, self-discovery, and real-life experience. His music combines personal storytelling with soulful, energetic production, creating records designed to connect while encouraging listeners to keep moving toward who they want to become.

That connection carries into his live performances. Porter has performed throughout Wisconsin at venues and events including High Noon Saloon, Breese Stevens Field during Festival Foods Lights the Isthmus, and The Bur Oak for Cap Times Live, Memorial Union Terrace, Summer Breeze Block Party, Make Music Madison, and performances in both Milwaukee and Green Bay. His live show emphasizes energy, crowd interaction, and creating a shared experience with the audience.

Porter is currently building toward his next project, The Path: Dreaming. Its first glimpse, “King of Pirates,” produced by Jase Beats, explores perseverance, purpose, and continuing forward when life forces the plan to change. The release has earned coverage from Rap Olympus and BuzzSlayers, continuing a growing record of independent press recognition.
Through both his music and Born To Dream, Porter's work is ultimately centered on a simple idea: keep pursuing the person and life you believe you're capable of becoming.
